Car Insurance Mazda (Car Insurance). My 2000 dodge dakota runs great but every time the humidity rises and moisture? My 2000 dodge dakota runs great but every time the humidity rises and moisture? FORMS ON THE ENGINE IT WILL NOT START. I had this in my Ranger. You probably have a crack in your distributor cap. I had to really look for the crack I had in mine. Try spraying it with WD-40 and if that works change your cap. I had a similar problem, and it was caused by the distributor cap. I actually inspected the cap, and it looked to be in perfect order, so I never considered it to be the cause of the problem. Finally, after months of this problem, I replaced it as a last-ditch effort to find the problem. Lo and behold, that actually fixed the problem! http://ultrahid.com/ Auto parts : Liquid Tank Acura 1995 . Liquid Tank Cap Alfa Romeo 1996 . Liquid Transfer Pump Audi 1997 . Load Bars BMW 1998 . Mazda . How to Install a Crank Pulley on a 300ZXA crank pulley lowers the amount of power drained by the non-engine components of your vehicle. These components, such as air conditioning and power steering, cause what is known as "parasitic drag." This drag takes away from the horsepower of your engine and makes your vehicle sluggish. You can install a crank pulley to increase the horsepower available in your 300ZX. But, the pulley may also hinder other aspects such as the power of your AC system. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Car jack Jack stands Socket set Screwdriver Coolant collection bin Puller tool CoolantRemove the Old Crank Pulley Step by Step : 1 Engage the parking brake on your 300ZX. 2 Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery by unscrewing the negative terminal from the negative battery post. 3 Raise the front of your vehicle with a car jack and place jack stands under the front two tires. 4 Remove the engine cover under the engine by removing the 6 nuts that secure it. 5 Remove the radiator lid by pulling it off. Locate the plug on the other side of the radiator and remove it by removing the screw that secures it. Place a collection bin under the area to catch the draining fluids. 6 Remove the lower radiator hose by removing the nut that secures it. Catch any excess fluid in the hose by draining it into your collection bin. 7 Disconnect the hoses from the coolant tubes near the front of the engine by pulling them off. 8 Remove the radiator by removing the two nuts that secure the retaining clamps. 9 Remove the lower radiator hose from the bottom of the engine. Catch any excess fluid into your collection bin. Step by Step : 10 Remove the fan shroud by pulling away at the three clips that secure it. Step by Step : 11 Remove the overflow hose from the radiator but don't allow it to fall down. Step by Step : 12 Remove the clips on the side of the radiator and remove the radiator. Step by Step : 13 Remove the radiator fan and fan clutch by removing the 4 nuts that secure each of them. Step by Step : 14 Loosen the power steering pump by loosening the nut that secures it. Loosen the belt tensioner by loosening the nut that secures it. Step by Step : 15 Shift your car to neutral. Remove the crank bolt that is now accessible. Shift your car back into gear. Step by Step : 16 Loosen the tensioner-locking bolt. Remove the belt tensioner on the alternator by removing the nut that secures it. Loosen the bolt securing the alternator and the tensioner-locking nut. Step by Step : 17 Loosen the AC belt tensioner and the idler pulley bolt. Step by Step : 18 Remove all three of the belts that you have loosened in the previous 4 steps. Step by Step : 19 Remove the pulley crank bolt. Use a puller tool to remove the old crank. Install the New Crank Pulley Step by Step : 1 Install your new crank pulley. Be sure that it is aligned properly with the woodruff key. 2 Reassemble the 300ZX by follwing the steps in Section 1 in reverse. 3 Refill the coolant in your radiator. 4 Lower your vehicle by jacking the car up, removing the jack stands, and lowering the jack. 5 Reconnect the negative terminal of your battery.
Mazda . How to Install the Timing Belt in a 1993 Audi 100The engine in the 1993 Audi 100 is an interference engine, which means that should the timing belt stretch too much or break, it could cause excessive engine damage, yet the manufacturer has not determined an exact time -- whether mileage or a time frame -- to change the belt. Experienced mechanics recommend changing the timing belt every 60,000 miles. Belts are made of rubber, which does stretch over time, but an automatic tensioner controls tension on the belt. Once the tensioner reaches its stop, it can no longer tension the stretching belt. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Set of sockets Camshaft holding tool No. 3243 Crankshaft holding tool No. 3242 8 mm Allen wrench Torque wrench Step by Step : 1 Fit the appropriate socket onto the bolt in the center of the accessory drive belt tensioner. Rotate the tensioner away from the belt to loosen the belt tension. Lift the belt off the pulleys. Remove the belt tensioner, using the appropriate socket. Unclip the left and right timing belt covers. 2 Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley lines up with the mark at the 12 o'clock position. The large holes in the camshaft sprockets should be facing each other -- the left sprocket's hole -- as you are looking down at the engine -- should be at 3 o'clock, and the right sprocket's hole should be at 9 o'clock. 3 Unplug the crankshaft position sensor. Remove it, using the appropriate socket. Screw crankshaft holding tool No. 3242 into the crankshaft sensor hole and tighten it lightly. Remove the crankshaft damper bolts, using the appropriate socket. Pull the crankshaft damper off -- you do not have to remove the large center bolt to get the crankshaft damper off. 4 Remove the lower timing belt cover, using the appropriate socket. Loosen the retaining bolts on both camshafts, but do not remove them. Loosen the timing belt tensioner bolt, then turn the tensioner pulley counterclockwise to remove tension from the timing belt. Tighten the bolt to hold the tensioner in place. Lift the timing belt off the pulleys. 5 Ensure that the camshaft sprockets can turn or taper but that they are not loose enough to tilt. Install the timing belt over the camshaft sprockets. Install camshaft holding tool No. 3243 in the large holes on the camshafts. The tool spans the space between the two camshafts. 6 Slide the belt under the water pump pulley, which is between the camshaft sprockets. Route the belt behind the guide pulley, which is under the right camshaft sprocket, as you are looking down at the engine. Route it around the crankshaft pulley, then behind the tensioner pulley. 7 Turn the tensioner pulley clockwise with an 8 mm Allen wrench until the belt can be twisted 90 degrees with your thumb and forefinger halfway between the left camshaft pulley and the water pump pulley. Tighten the tensioner bolt to 33 foot-pounds of torque. Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolts to 52 foot-pounds of torque. Remove the crankshaft and camshaft holding tools. 8 Reinstall the crankshaft damper, ensuring that the notch is lined up with the tab on the crankshaft sprocket. Install the rest of the parts in reverse order of removal. Install the crankshaft damper bolts and tighten them to 18 foot-pounds of torque. Reinstall the accessory drive belt. Tips & Warnings The special camshaft and crankshaft holding tools are available at a dealership. Commercial tool companies such as Matco or Snap-On may also have the tools on their distribution trucks. *Check the radiator cap If you don't have a safety pressure cap, or if your vehicle overheats easily, the cheapest possible remedy is to buy a new safety cap or replace the rubber gasket in the cap you have. If you aren't sure, ask a mechanic to pressure-test your cap to see whether it's functioning properly. If you need a new one, give the salesperson the make, model, and year of your vehicle and check the pressure limits (psi) on the new cap against your owner's manual to make sure that you're buying the proper cap for the amount of pressure in your cooling system. Never let a service station you don't normally frequent hook you into buying a new radiator cap unless you make them pressure-test your old cap. You may want to have them test the new cap, as well. I've been sold a faulty new cap to replace a faulty old one! Check the hoses Regularly check all the hoses under the hood of your vehicle, whether or not you've been having trouble. For instant panic, there's nothing like having a hose burst while you're driving. If it's a radiator hose, the resulting shower of steam is frightening at best and dangerous at worst. If a vacuum hose goes, the sudden loss of vacuum can stop your car in the midst of traffic. Checking your hoses and replacing the funky ones before they leak can save your nerves and your pocketbook in the long run. If you find a hose that's soft and squishy, bulgy, hard or brittle, cracked, leaking, or marked with a whitish deposit where stuff has leaked and dried, replace it immediately, before it breaks. I show you how to do that in the section "Leaky hoses" later in this chapter. . Chapter 14: Keeping Your Car from Getting Heartburn If you find a hose that is collapsed when the engine is cold but springs back when you remove the radiator pressure cap, the cap or coolant recovery 694

Repairing Leaks in the Coating System When you find a leak, you must decide whether you can handle it yourself or whether you must see a professional. The following sections give you a few pointers to help you decide. Radiator teaks Mazda . My dad sold his '81 Firebird in 1984. We both do not know the VIN number or the current status of it. I'd much rather pay a mechanic than hang upside down in a cramped space until I can locate and replace one of these hoses. Never attempt to replace a hose connected to your air conditioner: Air conditioners and their hoses contain refrigerant under pressure that can blind you. If you have any problems with your air conditioner or its hoses, seek professional help. Buying the right hose So much for the scary stuff. Before you can replace a hose, you need to go to an auto supply store and buy the proper type, diameter, and length for your vehicle. Radiator hoses have to bend to fit properly between the radiator and whatever they lead to. Some hoses are straight tubes, with wire coiled inside the rubber casing. These are called universal hoses; they're designed to bend to fit many cars. Often, the wire breaks or works its way through the top covering of the hose, causing the hose to leak.
